We miss everyone involved in GSG Seal Beach. We had a lot of fun.
Now we move on to something we think you will love.

We are teaming up with the good peep's over at Ambig to launch a small capsule collection of menswear that's made all in Los Angeles. We scoured the warehouses, followed people with rolls of fabric in their trucks, and found the best people to help us along the way. We dug through dusty dark rooms to find the best Japanese selvage denim. We found a guy who makes rad leather accessories. All part of the LA experience.

We are just starting the process but will be updating and documenting it for you along the way So keep checking back.

Yes folks, Goldenstategoods is leaving its brick & mortar shop behind. After a nice year and a half
as GSG and then 2 years as Furnace, we struggled to see the light. While we love Seal Beach, its a sleepy little town that
will always be just that.
We hope to keep it alive by remaining online and perhaps popping up one day near you.
Meantime, please support local businesses. They need you.
Thanks to everyone for all your support. We loved supporting artists, poets, musicians and everyone else that
had their hands in our little gig. We hope you will continue to support artists.

Ignacio Villanueva is an Artist based in Southern California. He was born 1975 in Van Nuys, later he moved to Huntington Beach where he brought with him his heavy habit of sketching and doodling. For Ignacio living within the Orange Curtain during the mid 80's and 90's was a good place to be exposed to skateboarding and a scene that was fruitful in visuals, music and characters. For a few years he had a stint in the skateboard industry managing teams for two separate shoe companies. Throughout his travels the one thing that remained consistent was the love of skateboarding and sketchbooks that he handily kept nearby documenting his travels, thoughts and experiences. In 2003 he began painting, which landed him his first solo show "Still Movement" at the Costa Mesa gallery Corner USA. More shows soon followed in Long Beach, Los Angeles and New York exhibiting work solo and with fellow skateboarding and creative peers. Ignacio finds inspiration in his surroundings, such as the picture poems of Kenneth Patchen, Charles Mingus on Piano or the minimalist approach of Saul Steinberg. Through the years Ignacio has developed a light, clean aesthetic; minimizing superfluous strokes, colors and accentuating the subject to keep his work straight forward and honest. After covering miles of concrete he is now a graphic designer by trade, and has created graphics for Etnies, Vans, Listen Skateboards and many more. Visit www.gammaray.tv

Cody Hager is an artist from the hills of Tehachapi California. Growing up as an identical twin his early inspirations came from the rebounding energy of twin brother jared and a southern Sierra Nevada back yard witch seemed to see no boundaries. As a 26 year old Skateboarder Cody surrounds himself with a renaissance lifestyle by building skate parks across the country, teaching wilderness survival classes, designing freelance art for the likes of volcom and vans, to the production an art skate travel zine titled "road to nowhere". Codys art embodies life as it inevitably changes and is deeply inspired by Ralph Steadmans take on artistic journalism. Wether it be a quill worked water color paintings from the open road, a road kill deer turned lamp, or his latest volcom stone age line, Codys mixed media mind shows no end.

"The Lamp art show idea came about from a trip up to june lake with a good friend. Due to Jiffy Lubes crumby service we found ourselves spilling oil across the empty hwy 395. As we waited for the tow truck i took my friends dog out amongst the inyo national forest shrubs in search for any thing dead or alive. The dog came through and found me two perfect deer jaw bones and a perfectly intact sun bleached bambi spine. My first initial reaction was to some how turn this road side causality into an illuminated visual piece of art. After the spine lamp came a sea lion skull lamp then came skate board lamps and then came a type writer and so on and so on until i was hooked! Lamp life took over. This body of work is to break down all prior relationships with the modern lamp and explore the mass media possibilities of illuminated nature and everyday objects. Thomas Edison once said "All a good invention needs is an imagination and a pile of junk". This show will make tom proud."

This fabulous girl, Emmelie-hand-makes these scented balms made from high-quality essential oils, in an ORGANIC Jojoba oil and ORGANIC Beeswax and Vitamin E base. Sounds delicious to me.

There's the obligatory Patchouli and Sandalwood scents (both of which Im not afraid to rock) and then there's the Oakmoss, Tobacco and Vetiver scents that sound delightful if not a flashback to my days working at the headshop.

They are $25.00 each and will be in the store next week. I can't wait.

Kendra came in today wearing her sad work uniform-it was an all black affair. I wish I had a "before".

Well she bought this cute vintage dress I had altered; about 30 minutes later she pops in with her friend rocking the dress she just bought. It was a whole new Kendra. She had her Dooney & Burke purse strapped over her shoulder too-Black wellies of course..(the picture didn't do it justice)
